Maka Maka is a brand that offers sustainable, artisan-made, and organic home decor items that are meticulously curated by us.
Did you know that our artisan "beaters" beat the silks that are woven to bring out the lustre in them? A tamarind wood hammer is used for this purpose and it requires a day to get the job done!
Our cotton products are made using khadi-khadi or khadi-cotton. The cotton yarn is spun by hand in charkhas, like in the times of Gandhiji! A big part of what we do contributes to the sustainability of these artisans.
Our Peace Silk pillows have an amazingly soft hand and with our vibrant colors they can brighten up any room! No silkworms are harmed in obtaining this exclusive silk!
Handwoven soft Muslin and Jamdani Scarves are timeless classics!
We create custom napkins and placemats using handwoven khadi cotton, mulmul and linen.
Peace Silk or Ahimsa Silk is the only silk we use. The Silkworm is not harmed in the process of extraction of the silk yarn. The silkworm metamorphoses into a moth inside the cocoon and cuts a hole to leave it behind. The cocoons are then collected to obtain the silk.
Our Repurposed Metal Art Collection is environmentally friendly and zero waste
