Untold India - Curated Arts & Crafts, & Storytelling

Growing up in India, Mitun had the unique privilege of traveling across the country from a very young age, due to the "wanderlust" her parents possessed.  Every vacation, long or short, was spent exploring regions near and far from her native city of Calcutta (Kolkata).

The result was adoption of an adventurouss spirit as a way of life and a deep appreciation for the rich arts and crafts heritage of India, which, later expanded to any region of the world.

Maka Maka hosted a unique event in Nov, 2025, called "Untold India" where curated crafts of all four regions of India were showcased, telling their unique stories of historical and cultural significance.  The event was held at The Hudgens Center for Art & Learning, in Duluth, GA.

The event concluded with a dramatic performance of a confluence of Indian classical dance known as Kathak and the vibrant of Spanish Flamenco!  The two dance forms claim to share a common heritage which was demonstrated by noted dancers Anurag Sharma and Malita Beloso.

The Consul General of India, Atlanta, Shri Ramesh Babu Lakshmanan graced the event as Guest of Honor.
